I am a conceptual fine art photographer.

I started my photography journey taking pictures of my daughter in 2001.  When I received my first DSLR I had to take a class at a local college to learn how to use it.  I was hooked!  I started looking at photographer’s work, wondering if I could do something like that.

I stopped documenting our lives and started to create alternate realities.  I put my daughter on a flying carpet, inside an hourglass, in other dimensions. The list goes on.  That was just the start of the journey to where I am and what I create today.

I try to take my pictures on location, but sometimes I take them in my living room.  Today’s technology allows me to take my model and put them wherever I want, and all from the comfort of my living room!  The ideas are limitless and the technology of editing allows me to push those limits.

I love to shop at thrift stores to find the perfect outfit for the model and if I have something specific in mind and I cannot find it, I will make it.  It’s all about trying to take what I see in my mind and create an image that I can share with you.

As you explore these images, you will see that my ideas range for the whimsical (sitting on a tower of books in the sky while reading a book) to downright scary (an ethereal little girl in a graveyard looking into you and telling you to “Shhhh”).  Many of my images are darker, but a lot of my images are metaphors for something else.  That’s why there is a story with the image.

I want to take you with me into my dreams.  I will create the visual for you, but you need to create the story to go along with it.  Think of it like a strange picture book that you suddenly are thrust into. What will your narrative be?  I try to share my thoughts around an image, but they can mean so much more to you.
