She was everything real in a world of make-believe. Atticus
She is strong. She is powerful. She has a voice. Why does she choose to run to a world of make-believe?
Could she be hiding form someone or something that has hurt her? Is she looking to escape from the horror of real life?
Why is she running?
I want to yell at her to stop running! Turn around, make a stand against what you are running from! You will only grow and become more powerful when you face your fears head-on.
Stand up! Face those fears and stop running.
“We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” Walt Disney
Why did you open that door when you came to it? Did you eagerly run through it or were you cautious? Or are you still sitting debating on whether to open the door or not?
We have all come across doors in our life that we need to make a decision, what do we do. If the door is closed, do we open it, do we go in? What is stopping you from opening that door and going inside? Fear is the main reason people do not go to the unknown. If you don’t open the door, will you look back and regret it?
So many decisions to make when we come across a doors in our path. What door do you take?
It’s not the destination, but the journey to get there.
Looking back at your journey, you can see the winding path that you took to get where you are. You may not have liked or enjoyed every twist and turn, but that path has led you here. Where your journey is going to take you depends on the path you take. Each path will take you in different directions, and they may or may not end at the same destination.
When you choose a path to take do you have a destination in mind or do you just wander? Sometimes getting lost may be a good thing.
Obsessed by a fairytale, we spend our lives searching for a magic door and a lost kingdom of peace—Eugene O’Neil
The door is a symbol of a barrier preventing us from moving forward. When it is closed it is mysterious, we wonder what is on the other side. We want to open the door and see what it is hiding. A closed door holds unlimited potential, anything could be on the other side. What lengths would we go to if we really wanted to open that door? Some open easily while others are locked. Do we try to open that locked door?
Some doors are wide open, inviting us in. These doors are less mysterious because we can see the other side. We can see what lies ahead for us, but they could be just as magical.
“I used to dream of being other places, other people. It was an escape for me.” Lauren Bacall
Adventure. Escape. These are words that came to mind when I created this image.
Sometimes, we need to escape from the world we are in. Maybe it’s something bad. Maybe it’s boredom. Maybe it’s just to gain a new perspective.
Other times, we look forward to something new. Somewhere new. An adventure that will not only help “recharge the batteries” but make us happy or fulfilled. Maybe, it’s just to gain a new perspective.
Not all who wander are lost but I think all who wander are looking for something.
“If you don’t know where you are going any road can take you there”—Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Do you know where you are going? Sometimes it is hard to imagine where the path will take us. But should that stop us from doing something we never did before? It doesn’t seem realistic to crawl into a large hole in a tree. You expect not to see more then bugs inside. But what if it was a magical opening to another world, a world where your imagination takes over, would you go inside? I would! I would run to see what my imagination could create and show it to the world. I do that every time I create a new image. I am bringing you into my world. Sometimes my world is a scary place, other times it is happy.
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”—Roald Dahl
I don’t believe in magic, do you? I am a concrete over an abstract person. You must be wondering how can I create the images I do if I am a concrete person.
My images are meant to take you into a world that does not exist in the ordinary world. But you may wonder why or how do I create them if I don’t believe in magic. These worlds exist in my imagination, in my relaxation state of mind. You can think of each image as being a part of my world, a world in which I invite you into when you view one.
